On May 27th 2008 the Streatham Branch was
delighted to receive a new John Deere 6230 tractor which will be used at the
Mininera and Hamilton trial sites. The new tractor replaces a similar
tractor which was used for the 2007 season.
The provision of a tractor for the Streatham and
Hamilton branches is the result of the very generous ongoing sponsorship of
Windmill Ag and John Deere, and ensures that work on the trial sites can be
completed on time and to the highest standard.
The new tractor was delivered to the Mininera
trial site by Matt Edgar of Windmill Ag, Ballarat. On hand to take delivery
were SFS chairman John McDougall, Streatham Branch chairman Neil Vallance,
SFS researcher Mark Steele and Streatham Branch coordinator Una Allender.
Ray Frawley of the Ballarat Courier was also on hand to report on the
handover.
